Works very well on my Chromebook, the only thing I am not completely satisfied with was the cost for premium. Firsly I thought it was in CAD when it was in USD so i think it should be more clear, second I think it is a little overpriced and that more people would get premium if it was a bit cheaper. Great app for blocking distractions on my chromebook :)

I don't want to be able to end freedom tasks with the task manager, but I also want to be able to use my task manager without disabling it. Similarly, when an app is set to full screen, Freedom can't block the website again, unless I disable full screen, which I don't want to. If those 2 issues can be fixed on pc, then it would be a 5-star. Everything else works great, though.

Used to be able to just use it as an extension, now you need to download a desktop app so they can harvest more of your data. Freedom from what? Not corporations continuously trying to steal your attention and your data, thats for sure. Product was built to scam, not to help.

If it's not working there's most likely a way to fix it. Not THE most intuitive to set up blocking app but I still honestly love it over all the other fancy blocking apps. Freedom had the option to buy a lifetime subscription and I bought it probably 5 years ago. They have lived up to their promise. I love the uninstall protect features. I did branch out to try other blocking apps but they all made you pay extra for the same features Freedom has. Even the design may not be super pretty and gamified, but the green is soothing and signifies it's time to do something other than be on my phone/social media.

This isn't working on my iphone 17 despite appearing in the blocked list of devices.

Has worked well and been extremely beneficial and valuable across all of my devices (Chromebook, Windows PC, and Android/Pixel).

Worked well on my Samsung smartphone. Switched to Pixel 9a and it no longer works at all.

I've been using this app for a week and am already very impressed. Having tried numerous website-blocking tools in the past, I can confidently say this is the best one so far. I'm giving it four stars only because it currently lacks the ability to block specific custom URLs—for example, "facebook.com/reels"—a feature available in some other apps. If this functionality is added, it has the potential to be the best app of its kind in every aspect.

Been using this product for nearly a decade! It definitely has been helpful for my maintaining focus!

A lifesaver in breaking some bad distraction habits! Even in the first week, this app has more than paid for itself in productivity I've reclaimed (and the doomscrolling malaise that goes with those distractions).

I will promote your tool on my 10k+ Twitter account. In exchange, you can give me a lifetime version of your software. I like your software it saves me time, and I like your branding, especially the block message, "You are free." I need software that can help me, and I believe this collaboration would be beneficial for both of us. I am serious about this offer. Twitter/X account: @Anttake__

This app is the only one I have found that completely prevents cheating. I am thankful for your help. I can block distractions, manage my shopping habits (food included). I am absolutely grateful for that! Whenever something didn't work, their teammate was always there to lend me a hand. In my view, it's worth every cent. Just blocking shops has already saved me a lot of money, not to mention the stress that comes with procrastination.

Login window can be improved, it does not accept auto fill from my Password manager, and whenever I try to copy and paste password and username it auto-closes the window. Maybe you can implement sync by link so that I can use the web portal to login and the authorize the browser. About the desktop app, it would be perfect if you also support Linux as well as other systems

Stephen Owen

its ok but i cant change the settings =(

Used it for years, love it. Helps me focus

Have you ever thought to yourself, "If only there were some way I could successfully outsource my self control, then maybe I could do anything?" I've probably had that thought every day of my adult life. I've tried everything too; deleting games and social media, asking friends to change my passwords and telling them not to give it back to me until I beg... I've sent phone numbers I don't want to drunk dial and passwords for mind-numbing social media accounts and home videos I don't want to obsess over to dummy email accounts that I've made it impossible to access. I've deleted entire hard-drives full of distracting games and irrelevant To-Do lists and nostalgia-inducing photo albums that seemed to haunt me daily. For the first time in 15 years, I have a digital confidant I can trust. Aside from its inability to block my television, my liquor cabinet, or my penchant for impulsive napping, I feel that I finally have some sort of effective impulse control. Now whenever I instinctively open Twitter or Netflix or Grindr or Solitaire, a simple image of a green butterfly comes up in its place along with a gentle, uplifting message like "YOU ARE FREE. GO DO GREAT THINGS." Whenever I resent the time I've wasted on my devices at the end of the day, I set up preventive measures for myself for the next day, blocking my choice of apps and websites for specific periods of time, always to my choosing. Do you have a problem wasting your lunch break on TikTok? Staying up late watching Office reruns? Spending every bathroom break playing Angry Birds? Compulsively checking your Tinder without any intention of meeting anyone? Freedom is the gentle slap on the wrist you've been wanting to give yourself for years. I am extremely broke but the annual subscription is well worth the price, and next year I will be upgrading to the "Forever" package. I have never been inspired to write a review for an app in my life, but this time, I felt I had to. Freedom has been resuscitating my life, and my ambitions, one day at a time.

Disappointed!! Why do you tell us in Bio that It is not Free!!

Shvat Eilat

very bad, keep sending spam even though I blocked them thousand of times and cancelled subscription. the program itself doesn't work at all but refuses to be uninstalled so you get the feeling this is a virus all the time

I use the cold turkey and qustodio for my windows desktop and use freedom.to and qustodio for my android phone. Using these 3 programs works to keep me off youtube and other sites. I really have been more productive with thses tools.

Arc Browser does not work well and websites are displayed without being blocked.

Maxime

This is actually a paid extension. I would have liked it to be clearer from the Chrome Web Store page. I think a lot of your bad reviews may be users that never had any intention to pay anything but were still tricked to install the extension and create an account.

Oli T

Best money I've ever spent, gave me my life back. Hope they add some new features soon though.

Yazan Zaid

Dear Freedom Team, I am writing to express my appreciation for your excellent application. I recently purchased Freedom lifetime after trying multiple fully premium products (like Cold Turkey Blocker). Your application is worth the money. I especially like Freedom's iOS integration and the screen time application blocking features. However, I have one suggestion for improvement. I wish you could add the focus filters feature in iOS so that the syncing between Apple devices would be much smoother, especially using the focus filters as a trigger for Freedom blocks using the Shortcuts app. I understand that there are some limitations of the syncing states between iOS devices (It's not Freedom's fault). Furthermore, I have also created some shortcuts that help the syncing process between my Apple/Devices. I love to share them with you if you are interested. Thank you for creating such a productive and user-friendly application. Please keep up the good work! The only problem that the support team takes too long to reply if they reply to your messages. I wish they improve their customer service. Sincerely, Yazan Zaid
